(1) West Travis County – Tuesday, January 2, 2018 —  A man who died Tuesday evening after spinning out of control on an icy bridge on Texas 71 in western Travis County at 4:59 pm on Tuesday has been identified as 41-year-old Michael Charles Roeder.  Bee Cave Police Chief Gary Miller said Roeder was headed east on the highway around 5 p.m. when he drove onto an elevated section of the road.  “It appears that ice had formed on the bridge and he lost control of his vehicle and spun into the westbound lanes, where he was struck by at least one other vehicle,” Miller said, adding that the vehicle rolled over and Roeder was partially thrown out.  Several other vehicles were involved in the crash, but no one else was seriously hurt, Miller said.
