The driver, later identified as Aimee Alexa Lopez, was evaluated by paramedics from Austin Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) and was pronounced deceased on the scene.

On Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at approximately 5:04 p.m., Austin Police officers (APD) responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle that was heading northbound in the 5100 block of Ponciana Drive, near the intersection with Pepper Lane. The motorcyclist, later identified as Brandon Scott Brewer, was evaluated by paramedics from Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) on the scene and subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

A baby delivered prematurely after a South Congress Avenue crash has died, marking Austin’s 16th traffic death of 2026, police said. The pregnant passenger was in one of two vehicles involved in a crash in the 500 block of South Congress Avenue at 2:21 p.m. Saturday, March 14. She was taken to a hospital, where she later gave birth prematurely to Leonel Castillo Estrada. The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene, police said.

During the pursuit, the trooper lost sight of the motorcycle, and the pursuit was terminated. Shortly after, it was learned that the motorcycle was involved in a crash in the intersection of E Parmer Ln and Old HWY 20. The motorcycle rider, later identified as Javan O Jackson, was pronounced deceased on scene.

The driver was the sole occupant in the van, was transported to the hospital, and later pronounced deceased. The individual has been identified as Ezequiel Diaz Lopez.

On Saturday, January 31, 2026, at approximately 2:48 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a crash that involved a motor vehicle and a pedestrian in the intersection of North IH 35 service road southbound and East 6th Street. The suspect vehicle left the scene after the crash. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) also responded to the scene and attempted life saving measures. The pedestrian, later identified as Aaron William Johnson, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Through utilizing the HALO camera system used by APD to monitor downtown activities, APD was able to view footage before the crash and identify the suspect as 21-year-old Marlon Samir Caracamo-Carias.

On Monday, January 5, at 2:02 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 900 block of E Koenig Lane. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) responded to perform life-saving measures on the pedestrian, who was pronounced deceased on scene. The vehicle involved in the incident fled the area. Austin Police (APD) detectives are requesting the community’s help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run incident that occurred on Monday, January 5, 2026, at approximately 2:02 a.m. APD officers responded to a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 900 block of E Koenig. The pedestrian was later identified as Donna Michelle Hanson, who was pronounced deceased on scene. The suspect vehicle fled the scene, leaving behind several car parts consistent with a 1998-2000 BMW 323. A witness describes the vehicle as dark in color and indicates it was last seen traveling eastbound on Koenig Lane.

Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) responded to the scene to attempt life saving measures on the driver, later identified as Trent Michael Ulloa. Mr. Ulloa was pronounced deceased on scene.

On Thursday, January 1, 2026, at 9:26 a.m., Austin Police (APD) officers responded to a for a single-vehicle crash in the 2400 block of W Ben White Blvd SVRD WB. The driver of a pickup truck that was pulling a trailer was the only occupant in the vehicle. The Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services (ATCEMS) also responded to the scene to attempt life saving measures on the driver. The driver, later identified as Nickolas Paul Marchioni, was transported to South Austin Hospital and was pronounced deceased.
Greater Austin Area Fatal Crashes ————
March 21, 2026 – San Marcos — A woman was killed after a head-on collision involved two cars in San Marcos Friday evening. San Marcos PD says that police officers, along with fire and EMS officials, responded to a crash at around 6:09 p.m. Friday evening in the 9800 block of FM 110 between Highway 80 and SH 21. Police say the crash involved a dark-colored Hyundai Sonata and a white Honda Accord, and that the preliminary investigation indicates the Honda veered into the oncoming lane and crashed head-on with the Hyundai. The driver of the Hyundai, identified by police as 48-year-old Estella Rodriguez Autry, was taken to Ascension Seton Hays Hospital in Kyle, where police say she died.
March 13, 2026 – Travis County — One person was killed in a motorcycle crash near Del Valle Friday evening, according to Austin-Travis County EMS. Medics responded to a call in the 2200 block of S. FM 973, just north of River Road, around 5:30 p.m. The agency said an adult person was pronounced dead on the scene.
March 10, 2026 – Leander — Leander Police had to close part of a roadway for a couple of hours overnight while responding to a fatal crash. The police department posted a traffic alert on social media just before midnight, saying RM 2243 was closed in both directions between County Road 175 and Limestone Creek due to a fatal crash. The roadway was later opened shortly before 3 a.m., police said in an update. The Leander Police Department shared another update later Tuesday, saying the crash had involved a single vehicle, whose driver died as a result of the crash. Police identified the driver as 62-year-old Round Rock resident Luis Olivares Almaraz. He was the only person in the vehicle.
March 9, 2026 – Lakeway — Parts of Lohmans Crossing Road in Lakeway were shut down Monday night after a deadly crash, according to Lakeway Police. The roadway fully reopened overnight, police said. The department posted about the crash just before 9:45 p.m. Police said the eastbound lanes of the road in front of Tuscan Village were affected. The crash involved a single vehicle, according to police.
February 21, 2026 – Travis County — A man was arrested Friday for intoxication manslaughter in connection with a fatal crash on US 183 South in February. Gustavo Barbosa Sanchez, 24, was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety and booked into the Bastrop County Jail after a blood test showed his blood alcohol concentration was 0.211 at the time of the crash . That is more than twice the legal limit of 0.08. The three-vehicle crash occurred Feb. 21 near William Cannon Drive. Investigators determined Sanchez was driving a Kia Forte at high speed when it struck the rear of a Volkswagen Atlas, which was then pushed into a Chevrolet Silverado. His passenger, Alejandro Perez Ramirez, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene. Sanchez was hospitalized with serious injuries.
February 6, 2026 – Travis County — The Travis County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that shut down FM 1431 in Lago Vista on Friday evening. The Lago Vista Police Department posted about the crash on social media just after 5:30 p.m. The department said lanes in both directions of FM 1431 are shut down near Tessera Parkway
January 23, 2026 – Pflugerville — One person is dead after a crash early Friday morning in Pflugerville. According to responders, the collision happened shortly after midnight Friday near FM 685 and East Pflugerville Parkway, roughly two miles away from Typhoon Texas Waterpark Austin. Officers said the victim died on scene, but their identity has not been made public. Two other people were transported to a hospital, where they are expected to recover without serious injuries. No arrests have been made, and it’s unclear exactly what led up to the crash.
January 12, 2026 – Pflugerville — The Pflugerville Police Department said Tuesday that one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash around 11 p.m. Monday. According to the department, officers responded to reports of a crash at the intersection of FM 685 and East Pfennig Lane. Responders found an unconscious “elderly female” with serious injuries in one of the vehicles. They attempted CPR to resuscitate her, but the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, Pflugerville Police said. The other vehicle’s driver was brought to Round Rock Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
January 9, 2026 – Mustang Ridge — One person died Friday night after a vehicle reportedly “spun out and flew off” northbound Highway 183, according to the Mustang Ridge Police Department. Police received multiple calls about the crash in the 12000 block of northbound Highway 183, the department said around 8 p.m. Officers responded to the scene.
January 7, 2026 – Buda — The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) said one person was killed in a head-on crash in Buda on Wednesday morning. According to DPS, a car traveling eastbound on FM 2001 crossed the center line and struck another car head-on. The driver of the second car was not injured. DPS said the driver of the car going eastbound was declared dead on scene. Authorities are not naming the victim until the next of kin is notified. DPS said its troopers responded to the crash around 7:30 a.m.
January 1, 2026 – Williamson County — DPS was investigating a fatal crash that occurred Jan. 1, 2026 near the westbound lanes of State Highway 45 and the O’Connor Drive exit, DPS said.
